SR Maralpina

The SR Maralpina starts from Ventimiglia and heads north through the Ligurian Alps. After 317 km, the route crosses the French border at Col de la Lombarde (2351 m altitude). It visits the Mercantour-Argentera massif and the Prealps of Nice. It ends at Col de la Madone de Gorbio, above Menton.

As soon as riders leave the seaside, they find quiet roads, perched villages, and often steep slopes. The Alpes Maritimes, whether Italian or French, are fascinating in their dizzy beauty. Delightful.

With its 15,500 vertical meters, it is one of the most difficult SRs. Small gears are recommended !

There are 15 km and 200 m of climb from Menton to Ventimiglia by the seaside... or 18 minutes by TER from Gare de Menton to Ventimiglia Stazione (a train every half hour).

The SR Maralpina was born in 2022, at the same time as its "sister" the SR Mounta Cala, which offers a similar tour, in the other direction, and with 200 km of gravel.
